The Matchbet Exchange allows a considerable amount of customisation on your part so that the interface looks and behaves as you would like it to. Most of the options available are contained in the Preferences tab in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.

The Confirmations section of the Preferences Panel allows you to disable confirmation messages that are automatically sent to you. For example, when you submit a bet a box will appear giving you the details of your bet and asking you to confirm that you wish to place it. Once you have placed the bet a confirmation box appears to tell you that the bet has been placed. Both of these can be turned off by un-ticking the boxes in the Preferences Panel.
You should, however, be aware that if you disable the Confirm Bet feature you will not be given the opportunity to check your bet after you submit it, and should therefore take extra care to ensure that the details are correct before you submit.
The Colour Scheme box allows you to choose from a wide range of colours for your interface.

The Matchbet Exchange provides two different ways of placing a bet: 'Take current offer only' and 'Valid until Matched/Cancelled'. For descriptions of these terms please consult our Glossary.
In the Preferences panel you can choose to select 'Switch to Valid until Matched/Cancelled' and this means that the Exchange will always place your bet in this way, unless you specify for a particular bet that you would like to 'Take current offer only'.
If you have 'Take current offer only' selected but then change your bet selection the interface will automatically revert to Valid until Matched/Cancelled.
The 'Hit or Take out of range, offer switch?' option is only relevant if you have 'Take current offer' selected for your bet. If you un-tick the 'Hit or Take' option you will not be able to place a bet at higher odds than those provided by the Exchange. With the option active, you are able to request a bet at any odds you like. If the odds you choose are higher than those in the Exchange you will be shown this message and asked whether you wish to place your bet as a 'Valid until Matched/Cancelled' bet and will then be able to place it.

To change your password, simply click on Change Password in the Preferences panel. You will be asked to enter your old password, and to confirm the new one you've chosen twice.
In the Preferences panel you have the ability to set the reminder period for your account. Matchbet takes its commitment to responsible gambling very seriously and this reminder enables you to easily monitor the amount of time you spend betting on our Exchange. You can set the time period to be anything between ten and sixty minutes, an each time you have been logged in to the Exchange for the specified period of time, a reminder message will appear telling you how long you have been using the Exchange for.
The Matchbet Exchange interface allows you to set limits for both the amount you deposit in your betting account within a twenty-four hour period and the amount you expose (risk) at any given time. In this way you can ensure that you don't exceed an amount you have limited yourself to and can also choose the maximum amount of money you want to risk at any given time.

Above is a screenshot of the lower part of the Preferences panel. As you can see the limits on this account have both been set at £5000. If you want to decrease either of your limits you can do so immediately by putting the new limit you want in the amount box and then clicking Request next to the relevant limit.

In the example above the deposit limit has now been changed to £2000, as requested.
Any increase to either the deposit or exposure limit will only take place after a twenty-four hour waiting period; this is part of Matchbet's commitment to responsible gambling. If you want to increase your exposure limit, you put the new amount you want in the Amount box and then click Request as you would for a decrease in the limit.
The Exchange has logged your request and the time at which it was made, but you can see from the 'false' in the Authorised column that the new limit has not yet been applied.
Once the twenty-four hour period has expired the 'false' value will change to 'true'. You can then increase your limit by clicking on Confirm next to the relevant limit.
You can choose to have no deposit and exposure limits on your account; to do this tick the No Limit box. As this is logically an increase to your limits the twenty-four hour waiting period will apply and you will have to Confirm your request once the request is showing as authorised (true).
